Artisan Profile

From a very young age Keri loved nature, playing in the dirt and creating art out of mud and wood; fast forward many years and she has rediscovered the earth again – clay. Keri fell in love immediately with the possibilities of creating art forms that could be used in everyday life.

The sense of shaping the earth into functional pieces as ancient potters’ once did; enabled her to find her inner artistic voice. As an emerging artist Keri has taken a hobby and turned this passion into creating alternative functional pieces for everyday use. She enjoys the rhythmic calm that a beautiful thrown piece can present to the user.

In 2009 as a member of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild, Keri spent her spare time honing her skills in the studio for over two years. A career change from the corporate world to full time Potter and Mom allowed her to work from home and continue her adventures in clay.

After much discussion and negotiation a designated pottery studio and kiln room was constructed in late 2012; the beginning of fire & flux STUDIOS.

All pieces are hand made by Keri in her studio in Oakville, Ontario. They are finished with lead free glazes, are microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
